Serene Staycation for the Barkada at Riverfront Garden Resort, Maragondon, Cavite

UPDATES AS OF MAY 4, 2019: They now accept credit and debit card payments. IG-worthy spots has been added like swings and bird’s nest.

When my family moved to Cavite back in 2003, people expected me to be a true blooded Caviteña. “So you’ve been to this?”, “So you also speak like that?”, or during my Spanish class in college, “Aha, so you understand Chavakano?”

Sunrise
The sunrise view outside our cabin.

Truth is, up to now, I haven’t been around this land in South though I have set foot on most of the provinces in the Philippines.

That’s why I was really amused to learn about the booming local tourism and attractions of my province. A quick Google search lead to me to discovering Riverfront Garden Resort in Maragondon.

Entrance
Your happily ever after starts here.

Approximately 3 hours away from Manila, this serene resort is perfect for groups who are seeking nature’s cradle.

I spoke with the Resort Manager, Sir Francis, and he shared that Riverfront is still in the process of expansion. Though they offer Twin, Deluxe, Superior and Group cabins, there is only 1 unit available for each. Except for Glamping Tents which can accommodate at least 4 bookings at a time.

Superior Cabin
Each cabin has its own bathroom, AC and fridge. Not to mention, the front and back glass doors. The back opens to a spacious social area, good for grill night or activities.

Though overnight accommodation is limited for the meantime, they offer Day Tours.

And oh, it will never be crowded as the resort has 3 pools. The main is a 5-ft dip that faces the river and beside it is the kiddie pool. However, the 4-ft pool is built in the back area near the cottages. There are also decent showers and changing areas so you won’t have to worry.

Poolside

Riverfront Garden Resort boasts a picture-perfect sight for its visitors.

What impressed me more is that Riverfront Garden Resort doesn’t compromise its visitors’ safety & security. This place may look like a resort built out of a hidden forest but CCTVs are almost everywhere.

How to get here via bus/commute

Take Ternate-bound buses, these passes through CAVITEX
Tell the bus conductor to drop you off at PUP
Hire a tricycle to take you to Riverfront

How to get here via private vehicle

Several routes can be taken, better ask Waze. :p
